Plastic Oceans Australasia (POA) are on a mission to raise awareness about the crucial role the ocean plays in sustaining life on Earth and the need to conserve our marine resources for future generations. The POA team launched the first series of the Guardians of the Ocean Webinar, on December 8th 2022. Through the Guardians of the Ocean (GOTO) Webinar Series, POA will share insights on sustainability and speak to experts about ocean health, ocean plastic pollution, technology, innovation, eco-tourism and education leaders within the Australasia region.
Moreover, POA seeks to explore the Ocean Literacy Framework and discuss the relevance of the seven principles of Ocean Literacy. During this first live webinar, POA also announced the winners of the 2022 Oceans in Motion (OiM) short film competition!
This first session, we heard from ocean waste recovery and ecotourism industry leader David Coleman – Separtis/Catch 22 Chairman. David Coleman discussed his experience attending COP 27.
