About the Role
Plastic Oceans Australasia is a Non-Governmental Organisation working to stem the tide on single-use plastic pollution. We work across Australia, New Zealand and neighbouring islands to educate and empower people to reduce their plastic consumption. We work across three pillars; education, business sustainability and science. We are proud of our collaborative, empowering and flexible workplace culture.
The Plastic Oceans Australasia (POA) head office is based in Melbourne, though the grant researcher and writer position is online/work from home.
Responsibilities
Work from home remotely from any state in Australia
Assist in researching and identifying grant opportunities to support programs and activities for POA in line with POA priorities
Develop and refine organisational procedures for the grants process, including the identification of key steps/components of successful grant applications
Build relationships and network with local and State government and non-government organisations and businesses to source and acquit grant funding for POA
Requirements
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We’re looking for someone with:
Professional experience in grant writing and management or similar role (3-5 years)
Demonstrated research and analysis skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to use MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of local and State Governments and ability to work effectively with community groups and other stakeholders
Current (or willing to obtain) National Police Check
